Signatech seeks Hypercar future after Alpine exit
Philippe Sinault, head of Signatech, the Hypercar service provider for Alpine, says he is still working to keep the team on the grid for 2027 following Alpine's withdrawal. The entry deadline is 23 November, and talks with Chinese manufacturer Geely to take over the A424 programme have ended without a deal.
Sinault said the team is preparing to run two cars next season and is in talks with another unnamed party, with a contingency plan that could see Signatech race in the ELMS LMP2 class. He said that Alpine retains a minority stake in the team but would not block a new programme, and that the cars could no longer run as Alpines.
If a Hypercar entry for 2027 cannot be secured, Sinault said the team would consider aiming for 2028. He added that retaining staff is his main concern.
