NTT to become official partner of McLaren's F1 team from 2027
NTT, the title sponsor of the IndyCar series, will join McLaren's Formula 1 team as an official partner in 2027 under a multi-year partnership. The deal follows the conclusion of NTT's sponsorship of the Arrow McLaren IndyCar team this year.
The two companies have worked together before. NTT Communications, now NTT Docomo, became a technology partner of McLaren-Honda in F1 in 2016, and NTT Data sponsored McLaren's IndyCar operation from 2023. Zak Brown, McLaren Racing CEO, was involved in the earlier arrangement through his former marketing company.
The new F1 partnership will be centred on artificial intelligence, with McLaren describing its focus as AI security governance. Brown said NTT's expertise would help the team adopt new technologies responsibly and securely. NTT will continue its IndyCar title sponsorship alongside its expanded presence in F1.
