Schumacher criticises Hamilton's Ferrari outburst after Mexico City clash with Leclerc

Source: Crash.net · · added 2 hours ago

Ralf Schumacher has criticised Lewis Hamilton for his public complaints to Ferrari after an opening-lap clash with team-mate Charles Leclerc at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Hamilton lost second place to Max Verstappen in the incident, and Leclerc was given a five-second penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage.

Schumacher said he had no problem with the racing contact itself but objected to Hamilton demanding a penalty for his team-mate over the radio and to his remark that the team had "big, big problems". He said Hamilton was putting himself above the Ferrari brand and acting more like a team boss than a driver.

Schumacher added that something urgently needs to change at Ferrari and called on team principal Fred Vasseur to take control, describing both drivers as stubborn.
