Lance Stroll to miss Interlagos media day with viral infection

Aston Martin has confirmed that Lance Stroll will miss Thursday's media day at Interlagos as he recovers from a viral infection picked up at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Stroll finished the Mexico City round before symptoms emerged, and the team has kept him away from paddock duties as a precaution ahead of the São Paulo Grand Prix.

Fernando Alonso will take Stroll's place in the second drivers' press conference. The team said Stroll is recovering well and is confident he will return to the paddock on Friday, with no indication that his participation in practice is in doubt.

Stroll is not the only driver affected. Kimi Antonelli and Valtteri Bottas also missed media day in Mexico City through illness, and Sergio Perez was ruled out of a fan event and media commitments after falling unwell.
