Chandhok urges Cadillac to consider Liam Lawson for 2027 F1 seat
Karun Chandhok has called on Cadillac to explore signing Liam Lawson, whose Racing Bulls future is uncertain while the team has yet to finalise its 2027 driver lineup. Lawson is ninth in the drivers' standings with 83 points from 19 rounds, more than Pierre Gasly and Arvid Lindblad combined.
Lawson could lose his seat to Nikola Tsolov, the Red Bull junior and F2 title challenger. Cadillac's interest is also linked to doubts over Valtteri Bottas and the disappointing F2 season of Colton Herta, who is seen as heir apparent. Chandhok said a Lawson and Sergio Perez line-up would look very strong.
Bernie Collins added that Lawson knows the Red Bull car and engine well from his stints with Racing Bulls and Red Bull, and could bring valuable data to a team that needs development.
