Verstappen frustrated by downshift and steering issues in Brazil
Max Verstappen finished third in both Friday practice sessions at the Brazil Grand Prix, but his radio messages showed frustration with his car. In the first session he described his downshifts as unacceptable, and he also complained about his steering wheel during the day.
In the second session, Verstappen was told that something on his power unit was adapting to him, which he responded to with a joke about speaking to the engine himself. He finished 0.259 seconds slower than Kimi Antonelli, who was quickest in that session for Mercedes.
Verstappen ended the second session early, with five minutes left, and it was later confirmed that the steering issues he had suffered earlier had returned. The Red Bull team then began its debriefs, with Verstappen and Isack Hadjar both left frustrated.
