Norris reacts positively to McLaren's São Paulo upgrades
Lando Norris has given a cautiously positive assessment of McLaren's upgrade package for the São Paulo Grand Prix. McLaren is the only team to have brought updates to Interlagos, fitting a revised floor, a new beam wing, a reworked rear wing and a test-concept front wing, aimed at generating downforce more efficiently without adding excessive drag.
Norris said the upgrades were not designed purely to improve handling, but that a perfect upgrade would bring both lap time and a handling gain. He suggested the car may feel a little more straightforward to drive, while cautioning that one track is not enough to judge.
Norris described FP1 as a pleasant surprise, where he was quickest, 0.082s ahead of Kimi Antonelli. He said McLaren struggled more in FP2, where Mercedes were two-tenths faster on every lap, but felt relatively competitive, and described it as a good day for performance.
