Norris positive after McLaren's Brazil GP upgrade debut
McLaren was the only team to bring an upgrade package to the Brazil Grand Prix, fitting a new front wing, rear wing, beam wing and floor furniture. Lando Norris had not expected the parts to address the handling problems he has been experiencing, but he finished the opening Friday practice sessions inside the top three in both FP1 and FP2.
Norris said the car seemed quite easily on the pace in FP1 and that FP2 was a little harder against Mercedes, but described the day as a positive start that continued the trend from Mexico. He said the upgrades appeared to bring some lap time and a more positive feeling, although the team would analyse the data overnight before FP3 on Saturday.
Randy Singh, McLaren's Senior Director of Racing, described the day as encouraging and said the data from both sessions indicated the revised front wing was delivering as expected.
