Camara reprimanded after dangerous Leclerc incident in Brazil
Haas rookie Rafael Camara has received a reprimand from the stewards after an incident with Charles Leclerc during the second practice session at Interlagos. Camara was handed his Formula 1 debut this weekend with Haas.
Camara was reported to be dawdling on the racing line on the climb up the final sector when Leclerc's Ferrari came through on a flying lap. Leclerc was squeezed towards the outside wall at high speed but was not damaged, and he reported the incident to the stewards for investigation.
The stewards said Camara had been warned several times by radio that Leclerc was approaching on a fast lap, yet continued weaving into the racing line. They described the situation as clearly dangerous, and while impeding in practice typically results in a warning, they judged a reprimand warranted.
