Valtteri Bottas angry over Cadillac suspension failure in Mexico City crash
Valtteri Bottas was heard venting his anger in an unbroadcast radio message after a high-speed crash at the Mexico City Grand Prix. His Cadillac's front-left suspension failed as he braked for Turn 1 on Lap 42, sending the car into a spin and into the barriers, which triggered a red flag.
The Finn had already been unwell with a viral infection at the start of the weekend and had faced repeated questions about his future with the Silverstone-based team. He remained in the car for some time before extricating himself unaided, and was given the all-clear at the medical centre after the race.
Bottas made his feelings clear to race engineer John Howard in the exchange following the crash.
