Mercedes eye constructors' title as Ferrari tensions simmer

Kimi Antonelli has already secured the drivers' championship, but Formula 1 continues to build towards the 2027 season. Mercedes can lock up the constructors' title in Sao Paulo by scoring three more points than Ferrari, while their rivals keep working to close the gap that opened at the start of the year.

The season has been split into two parts, with Mercedes winning seven of the first eight races before Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull each enjoyed spells at the front. Within Ferrari, the friction between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc remains a talking point after the pair tangled on the first lap in Mexico. Team principal Frederic Vasseur said talks had clarified positions and that the team must come first.
