McLaren to bring front and rear wing upgrades to Sao Paulo Grand Prix

Source: RacingNews365 · · added 1 hour ago

McLaren will introduce a package of upgrades at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix as it seeks to regain third place in the constructors' championship from Red Bull. Red Bull moved into third on 382 points, ahead of McLaren on 365, after Max Verstappen won in Mexico City and Isack Hadjar finished ninth. McLaren scored only through Lando Norris's fifth place, as Oscar Piastri lost seventh after a 10-second time penalty for colliding with Arvid Lindblad.

The upgrades include changes to the front and rear wings, along with small floor components. McLaren says the aim is to unlock further aerodynamic performance and refine the car's balance. Chief technical officer, aerodynamics, Peter Prodromou said the team hopes the updates will help it make up ground over the remaining races and build momentum into next year, adding that some learnings will feed into the 2027 MCL41, which is expected to carry over the concept of the new front wing.
