Liam Lawson admits no assurance over Racing Bulls seat for 2027

Source: Crash.net · · added 1 hour ago

Liam Lawson has said he has been given no assurance about keeping his Racing Bulls seat for 2027, despite running ninth in the 2026 world championship as the highest-placed midfield driver. The New Zealander recovered from the pitlane to finish seventh at the Mexico City Grand Prix, taking his points tally to 83.

Lawson's place is under threat from Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov, who made his F1 practice debut for Racing Bulls in Mexico City in place of Lawson. Team CEO Peter Bayer praised Tsolov's performance and said the driver decision rests with team principal Alan Permane, who will announce it when he feels the time is right.
