Camara to make F1 debut at Interlagos as Haas replaces Ocon
Rafael Camara will make his Formula 1 debut at Interlagos this weekend, joining Gabriel Bortoleto as the first pair of Brazilian drivers on the grid in 10 years. The Formula 2 championship leader takes the seat formerly held by Esteban Ocon at Haas, earlier than the planned start in 2027.
Esteban Ocon was dropped by Haas in the middle of the previous race weekend, a move the team has not explained, and his F1 future now looks uncertain. Felipe Drugovich, the former F2 champion who spent years testing for Aston Martin, appears unlikely to get another chance.
Mercedes arrive in Brazil 126 points ahead of Ferrari in the constructors' standings and could secure the title in Sao Paulo if their lead is at least 129 points after the race.
