Toyota rules out team orders for WEC Monza title fight
The FIA World Endurance Championship returns to Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the first time in three years, replacing the season-ending 8 Hours of Bahrain due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. It is the WEC's fourth race at the circuit.
Toyota has already secured the Hypercar manufacturers' championship, and only its Nos. 7 and 8 TR010 Hybrids remain in contention for the drivers' title. Team principal David Floury said there will be no team orders between the two cars, with the No. 8 crew of Brendan Hartley, Sebastien Buemi and Ryo Hirakawa holding a 17-point lead over the No. 7 entry.
The weekend also marks the debut of the LMGT3 class at Monza and the final appearance of Goodyear's current-generation tyres, with Mike Conway set to race in his final professional event.
