6H Monza: WRT and Alpine honour Zanardi, Conway and team legacies before final WEC round
WRT is running a special livery on its #32 BMW M4 LMGT3 Evo in tribute to the late Alex Zanardi. Augusto Farfus, a former WTCC teammate of Zanardi, conceived the idea, and Darren Leung, the car's Bronze driver, executed it. Leung is among several drivers racing after the WEC season ends, next weekend at Paul Ricard in the Asian Le Mans Series opener, driving an AMG GT3 with 2 Seas.
This weekend's 6 Hours of Monza is also the final race for Goodyear's current generation of LMGT3 tyres, with a new specification arriving in WEC and ELMS from 2027. Goodyear's Stephen Bickley said the cooler conditions expected at Monza would make fast tyre warm-up important.
Toyota's #7 TR010 HYBRID carries 'Thank you Mike' decals to mark Mike Conway's final race in his professional career, while Alpine Endurance Team is displaying 'Racing Spirit Forever' ahead of its final WEC Hypercar race.
