TF Sport wins 2026 WEC LMGT3 title at Monza

Source: DailySportscar · · added 59 minutes ago

TF Sport and Jonny Edgar have secured the LMGT3 championship in the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship after the #33 Corvette finished third at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The team had led the standings since the 24 Hours of Le Mans, although its lead was gradually eroded by rivals and success ballast. A consistent run of points finishes, including a top-six result needed once the #92 Manthey Porsche looked set for victory, kept the title in reach.

The title is TF Sport's second FIA WEC crown, following the 2022 LMGTE Am Teams' championship, and its first since partnering with Corvette Racing. The team also became the first to win both the FIA WEC and European Le Mans Series GT titles in the same season. Edgar, 22, earned his first FIA WEC Drivers' title, the first driver to win a major FIA WEC title solo in 11 years.

Edgar said he was relieved, describing the final stints as stressful. Ben Keating, who ended his full-time FIA WEC career with the result, said every point had mattered over the season.
