Kubica leaves AF Corse Ferrari Hypercar programme
Robert Kubica has announced his departure from AF Corse's Ferrari 499P programme after three years with the Italian manufacturer's satellite Hypercar entry. The Pole revealed the news in an Instagram video following the season-ending 6 Hours of Monza, where his crew finished sixth. Kubica won last year's 24 Hours of Le Mans in the No. 83 car alongside Phil Hanson and Yifei Ye.
Kubica said the Monza race was his last in yellow, adding that he did not want to sum up the year. His replacement has not yet been named, although Hanson and Ye are expected to continue as Ferrari factory drivers following recent contract signings or extensions.
Kubica said his future plans remain unclear. He would like to return to AF Corse and race at Le Mans again, which he described as the race he would most like to win, but he said the outcome is uncertain.
