Cadillac wins Monza WEC finale as Corvette takes LMGT3 titles
Cadillac took the Hypercar victory at the Monza finale of the 2026 World Endurance Championship, with Earl Bamber holding off the Alpine A424 of Victor Martins by 5.607 seconds in the six-hour race. Jack Aitken had led for Cadillac from the sixth lap, having taken over from Sebastien Bourdais, who was making his final WEC Hypercar start. All teams had to calculate dry settings for the race after rain during practice and qualifying, and Jota and Cadillac handled that process well.
In LMGT3, the TF Sport Corvette team clinched the drivers' title for Jonny Edgar and the teams' championship. Toyota had already secured the manufacturers' title before the race, and Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa took the drivers' championship for the Toyota line-up.
Alpine Endurance Team, run by Signatech, finished second but without a win this year, as Renault withdraws from the category. The No. 007 Aston Martin THOR car finished third but took a 20-second tyre pressure penalty and was under investigation for an energy infringement.
