Keating eyes LMGT3 title at Monza before fun-focused 2027 plans

Source: DailySportscar · · added 7 hours ago

TF Sport's Ben Keating starts from second on the grid in the #33 Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R at the 6 Hours of Monza, the final race of the season, and is aiming to help the team secure the LMGT3 Teams' title. Keating has had bad luck at Monza in previous years, with probable victories lost in 2021 and 2022 to a high-speed tyre failure and a brake failure for co-driver Henrique Chaves respectively.

From next season Keating plans to focus on what he calls fun races, including the Daytona 24, Le Mans 24 and Sebring 12 Hours, as well as grassroots ChampCar Endurance Series and off-road competition. He is approaching co-driver Jonny Edgar's title prospects as if they were his own, despite missing the first two races with an elbow injury.

In the Hypercar class, Miguel Molina and Daniel Juncadella share the front row, in the #50 Ferrari and #19 Genesis Magma Racing car respectively. Mike Conway starts the #7 Toyota in what will be his final professional race.
