Fuoco takes pole for final Ferrari 499P race at Monza
Antonio Fuoco secured pole position for the FIA World Endurance Championship season-ending 6 Hours of Monza, bookending the Ferrari 499P's racing career with the car's first pole at the 1000 Miles of Sebring in 2023. Fuoco said he hoped for a clean race to mark the car's final outing.
The result was Ferrari's fourth consecutive pole in Italy and the 499P's 11th overall in WEC competition. Ferrari's overhaul of the LMH-based car for 2027 is expected to bring a new or altered model name, as next year marks the company's 80th anniversary.
In LMGT3, Hadrien David's Lexus RC F GT3 took pole, while Theo Pourchaire qualified fifth in the Peugeot and Jonny Edgar was second in the TF Sport Corvette. Kamui Kobayashi and Harry Tincknell face grid penalties for impeding other cars in qualifying.
