Verstappen fastest in Brazil FP3 as Hamilton has problems
Max Verstappen topped the time sheets in the final practice session of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix weekend, ahead of Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Lando Norris. Verstappen set a 1:11.622, with Antonelli just 0.025 seconds behind and Norris within 0.131.
Antonelli had an early problem, complaining about his steering wheel and upshifts before being called into the pits for a different wheel. Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari returned to the garage after he reported smoke in the cockpit, leaving him eighth fastest with around 20 minutes remaining.
Several drivers face grid penalties for engine components in Brazil, including Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Sergio Perez and Verstappen, who will take a completely new engine after issues on Friday. Lance Stroll's Aston Martin was also forced to retire from the session with a suspected ERS issue.
