Keke Rosberg won his final race for Williams in 1985, taking victory in the first world championship Formula 1 race staged in Australia on the street circuit in Adelaide. The event drew more than 110,000 spectators.

Rosberg led from the start but had to fight off a challenge and survived heavy contact with Ayrton Senna's Lotus halfway through the race. Senna had moved into the lead but retired with engine trouble.

The victory was the fifth and last Grand Prix win of Rosberg's career, before he moved on to McLaren the following year.
