Rosberg urges Vasseur to set racing rules after Hamilton and Leclerc clash in Mexico

Source: RacingNews365 · · added 1 hour ago

Nico Rosberg has called on Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur to act and set clear racing guidelines for Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. The comments follow a first-lap clash between the pair at the Mexico City Grand Prix, which cost the team points and squandered a strong position to fight for victory.

Vasseur described the incident as unacceptable, citing a lack of respect for those who work for and represent the team. Hamilton, who finished second with Leclerc down in fourth, also voiced his frustration over team radio and after the race. Rosberg said the team boss needs to establish rules of engagement, warning that the situation could worsen if the drivers settle disputes on track themselves.

The main incident came at Turn 4, when Leclerc went around the outside of Hamilton and both went off track. Leclerc was given a five-second penalty after Max Verstappen took second, and Rosberg felt Leclerc had already been too aggressive earlier in the lap.
