Mercedes can clinch 2026 constructors' title at Sao Paulo Grand Prix
Mercedes head to the Sao Paulo Grand Prix with a 126-point lead over Ferrari in the constructors' standings, with 172 points still available across the remaining rounds. Having already secured the drivers' championship through Kimi Antonelli, the team needs to outscore Ferrari by three points or more in Brazil to wrap up the constructors' title there.
If Ferrari fail to score, Antonelli or George Russell must finish at least eighth to earn the four points required. For Ferrari to keep the fight alive until Las Vegas, they must outscore Mercedes by four or more points, meaning an eighth-place finish is their minimum if Mercedes fail to score.
Should the gap remain exactly 126 points, Mercedes would win on countback, having taken 12 wins to Ferrari's two so far. A title would be Mercedes' ninth constructors' championship, drawing them level with Williams for third on the all-time list.
