Lewis Hamilton set for 400th F1 grand prix start at Sao Paulo
Lewis Hamilton is due to reach 400 grand prix entries at this weekend's Sao Paulo GP, becoming only the second F1 driver to do so after Fernando Alonso. The seven-time champion has never posted a Did Not Start or withdrawal from a race he has been entered into since his 2007 Australian GP debut. His only absence came at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix, when he tested positive for COVID-19 and was not entered, so his record of equal entries and starts remains intact.
Hamilton has so far recorded 106 wins, 105 poles, 70 fastest laps, 209 podiums and 5,277.50 points, along with 5,530 laps led. Alonso is set for his 448th entry and 445th start at Interlagos, the venue where both drivers won their first titles, Alonso in 2005 and Hamilton in 2008. Hamilton is seven fastest laps behind Michael Schumacher's record tally of 77.
