Leclerc to speak with Hamilton after Mexico City opening-lap clash

Charles Leclerc has confirmed he intends to speak with Ferrari team-mate Lewis Hamilton after the two collided on the first lap of the Mexico City Grand Prix. Leclerc attempted an outside move into Turn 4, and while Hamilton ran wide, the stewards gave Leclerc a five-second time penalty for gaining an advantage off-track.

Leclerc said he was unsure whether Hamilton was unhappy with his move, suggesting Hamilton may have been more frustrated by how the incident and penalty were handled. Ferrari served the penalty during Leclerc's scheduled pit stop. Leclerc later argued that the rules on paper must be followed, and said circuit changes could remove such grey areas.
