Leclerc to miss Brazilian GP media day after birth of daughter
Charles Leclerc will not attend Thursday's media day at the Brazilian Grand Prix following the birth of his daughter Bianca on Tuesday. Ferrari confirmed that the driver is only travelling to Sao Paulo on Thursday, having returned to Monaco straight after the Mexican Grand Prix to be present for the birth.
Leclerc and his wife Alexandra announced the birth a day later on social media. The absence from media day at Interlagos gives him more time at home with his family, and Dino Beganovic will take part in FP1 in his place. Ferrari had originally planned for Rafael Camara to make his practice debut, but changed its plans when Haas called up its F1 2027 driver to replace the ousted Esteban Ocon.
Leclerc's absence also delays fans hearing his account of his lap 1 clash with Lewis Hamilton at the Mexican Grand Prix, where the stewards penalised him for gaining an advantage off the track. Leclerc said the two would talk about it.
