Leclerc says he and Hamilton both erred at Mexico City Grand Prix
Charles Leclerc has given his view on his opening-lap clash with Ferrari team-mate Lewis Hamilton at the Mexico City Grand Prix, where both drivers went wide at Turn 4. Leclerc said he had expected a penalty and was handed a five-second time penalty by the stewards for not giving the position back, finishing fourth behind Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Leclerc refused to take the entire blame, insisting "we both made a mistake" and that neither driver had made contact. He said the incident would be a talking point within the Scuderia at the next briefing, after Hamilton had called out his team-mate's mentality following the race.
Leclerc currently sits fifth in the drivers' standings ahead of the race weekend at Interlagos.
