Konig declines to discuss Schumacher's condition, citing family privacy

Long-time Formula 1 television presenter Florian Konig says he deliberately refuses to discuss Michael Schumacher's condition, even with members of the family. Konig, who knew Schumacher closely throughout his career, said the family made clear early on that no further information should be released, and that he has always respected that wish, particularly that of Corinna Schumacher.

Konig said that even if he learns anything privately, he keeps it to himself, and that he does not ask Mick, Ralf or anyone else how Michael is doing. He added that he understands why fans want to know how the seven-time world champion is, but said the family's interests must come first. "They've made their decision," he said. "And I think that's perfectly fine. We all have to accept it."
