Hulkenberg fourth on grid for Sao Paulo race after wet qualifying
Nico Hulkenberg says there is "all to play for" in Sunday's Sao Paulo Grand Prix after qualifying sixth overall in wet conditions at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace. Qualifying was initially delayed by heavy rain, and the Audi driver featured near the top of the timing sheet before finishing P6. Grid penalties for George Russell and Charles Leclerc will move him up to fourth for the race.
The result is Audi's best of the season. Hulkenberg had not completed any running on Friday because of technical issues with his car. He took his only Formula 1 pole position at the track in 2010, also in a rain-affected session.
Teammate Gabriel Bortoleto crashed out early in qualifying after running wide at Turn 12 and hitting the tyre barrier, and was unable to continue. He said he was "very disappointed with myself".
