Hadjar criticises F1 wet tyres after rain-hit qualifying
Isack Hadjar has criticised Formula 1's wet weather tyres after qualifying fifth for the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver was seventh-quickest in the rain-affected session but moved up two places after penalties for George Russell and Charles Leclerc.
Hadjar said he was left behind in the queue for the final Q3 lap, which cost him a better result. He was two-tenths of a second slower than team mate Max Verstappen in the first part of qualifying, the only stage where both set times. He described the wet conditions as very tricky and said the grip was insufficient.
Hadjar said he was not happy with how the tyres behaved once there was standing water, citing the amount of aquaplaning he experienced, even on the extreme wet compound.
