Gasly woken for early-morning doping test before Sao Paulo GP
Pierre Gasly has revealed that he was subject to a random doping test ahead of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix weekend. Formula 1 drivers are subject to World Anti-Doping Agency rules, with random tests taking place throughout the year, including before grand prix weekends. Gasly said the test administrators woke him at 6am on Thursday morning.
Gasly, who has two podiums at Interlagos, said he was looking forward to the weekend and expected rain on Sunday. He also spoke about his penalty in Mexico City, where he was demoted from the points after failing to slow sufficiently under yellow flags, and took full responsibility for the incident.
