Cadillac revises Bottas's suspension spec after Mexico crash
Cadillac has rolled back the specification of a suspension component after diagnosing the cause of Valtteri Bottas's crash at the Mexican Grand Prix, where his front left suspension failed at the first corner.
Bottas avoided a heavy impact, although he bruised his right leg against the steering wheel when the car hit the wall. He says the muscle bruising already feels completely normal and that he has no issue returning to the car for the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The team identified the cause as heat from the brakes reaching the wishbones, with Mexico exceeding Cadillac's temperature tolerances and the car running too long in the red zone. Bottas said the limits have been lowered and some parts reverted to an older specification as a precaution, with further stress testing under way at the factory.
