Gasly woken for doping test before Brazilian Grand Prix
Pierre Gasly was woken at 6:00am in Sao Paulo on Thursday for a random anti-doping test ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos. The Alpine driver said he was not in the best mood after a poor night's sleep, but added that he loves the circuit, where he has taken two Formula 1 podiums, in 2019 and in the rain in 2024.
Gasly also spoke about his frustrating result at the Mexico City Grand Prix, where a 30-second time penalty and two superlicence penalty points for a yellow-flag infringement dropped him from ninth to 17th. He accepted full responsibility, saying he had not slowed down enough after a double-yellow flag was shown following Oliver Bearman's crash, though he described the circumstances as difficult.
