Gabriele Mini to make second Alpine F1 practice appearance in Sao Paulo
Alpine has announced that Gabriele Mini will drive its A525 in first practice at Sao Paulo, replacing Pierre Gasly for the opening 60 minutes of running at Interlagos.
Mini made his grand prix weekend debut in Mexico City, taking over from Franco Colapinto for the Argentine's missed session. Gasly still has one session to complete, so he will stand down for first practice in Brazil.
Mini is among four confirmed substitute drivers so far. Freddie Slater will deputise for Nico Hulkenberg at Audi, Leonardo Fornaroli for Oscar Piastri at McLaren and Luke Browning for Carlos Sainz at Williams. Colton Herta is also expected to take another FP1 outing at Cadillac to qualify for a superlicence.
