F1 counterclaims $104m from axed Russian GP promoter Rosgonki
Formula 1 has filed a counterclaim of $104 million against Rosgonki, the former promoter of the Russian Grand Prix, in an escalating dispute before the High Court in England and Wales. The fees are said to relate to events that were never held after F1 terminated the promoter agreement in March 2022.
Rosgonki sued in August 2025 to recover around 50 million pounds plus interest, including a $24 million prepaid fee for the cancelled 2022 race. F1 has argued that sanctions prevent a refund, citing concerns about Rosgonki's links to the sanctioned bank VTB, which Rosgonki denies controls it. Rosgonki has described F1's demand as "unconscionable".
