Chandhok says Leclerc must calm his approach to racing Hamilton after Mexico clash
Karun Chandhok believes Charles Leclerc needs to adopt a calmer approach when racing Ferrari team-mate Lewis Hamilton, following their clash on the opening lap of the Mexico City Grand Prix. Leclerc was handed a five-second time penalty for cutting the corner at Turn 4 after attacking Hamilton, which allowed Max Verstappen to take victory ahead of Hamilton.
Chandhok said the adrenaline during the first lap can lead drivers to act on instinct rather than clear thinking, but that Leclerc also finds it hard to back off and treat his team-mate differently from other cars. He suggested Ferrari will have to push Leclerc towards that approach.
Fellow Sky Sports F1 pundit Nico Rosberg also criticised Leclerc, noting that the blame has fallen on him in both Monza and Mexico.
