Brundle backs Lawson to find F1 seat if Racing Bulls drop him

Source: RacingNews365 · · added 14 minutes ago

Martin Brundle has said Liam Lawson would find a seat elsewhere on the grid if Racing Bulls decide not to retain him for next year. The New Zealander is still awaiting confirmation of his future with the Faenza-based team despite consistently scoring points this season. He sits ninth in the drivers' championship, the leading performer outside the drivers at the top four teams.

Lawson faces competition from F2 title contender Nikola Tsolov, who made his FP1 debut with the team in Mexico. Brundle described Formula 1 as a "brutal business", noting that drivers often get their chance because someone else has been removed. He said Lawson had done enough to remain in the sport, whether as a super sub or through a quick move to another team.
