Brundle says Hamilton sees Ferrari opportunity after Mexico clash
Martin Brundle believes Lewis Hamilton is using the fallout from the Mexico City Grand Prix, where Charles Leclerc attempted a move around the outside of Turn 4, to strengthen his position inside Ferrari. Hamilton finished second after Leclerc ran wide and retook the lead. The stewards gave Leclerc a five-second penalty rather than the standard ten, but it did not restore the lead to Hamilton, as Max Verstappen inherited the win and Leclerc dropped to fourth.
Brundle said Hamilton has become more unfiltered about Ferrari's internal dynamics and was unhappy with the outcome, noting that a Ferrari driver did not benefit. He described Leclerc's move as a poor decision against a teammate. Brundle also drew a parallel with Hamilton's earlier spats with Nico Rosberg at Mercedes, and said Hamilton's radio comments about big problems were directed at people in Italy rather than in Mexico.
