Lawson unsure of F1 future as Racing Bulls seats remain open
Liam Lawson says he does not know what more Red Bull and Racing Bulls want from him, with his Formula 1 future still unresolved for 2027. He described it as a tough position at the end of the season, with few options left, while stressing that he wants to keep racing in F1 and feels the team has had a strong year.
Martin Brundle has dismissed the idea that Lawson's collision with Max Verstappen in Mexico could cost him his seat. Both drivers received a one-place grid penalty after colliding in Friday practice, and Verstappen had said it was not smart of Lawson to pick a fight given his status. Brundle called it pathetic and childish if that was a factor, and said he could not believe it was.
The Racing Bulls seats for 2027 have yet to be confirmed, and the threat of Nikola Tsolov is said to hang over Lawson's place in the team.
