Logan takes first Super2 pole in red-flagged qualifying

Heavy rain hit Sandown shortly before the Super2 qualifying session began, forcing teams to switch to wet weather tyres. Several drivers went off the road, including Tommy Smith, Ayrton Hodson, Alice Buckley and Matt Hillyer, while conditions made it difficult to improve on lap times.

Logan set his fastest time on the eighth of twelve laps and was not beaten after another shower crossed the circuit. He headed an all-Ford top five ahead of Lachie Dalton, Reuben Goodall, Nash Morris and Ben Gomersall. Declan Fraser's Matt Stone Racing Holden ZB Commodore expired exiting Turn 4, bringing the session to an early end; he qualified 15th on his return to the series.

Elliott Cleary was the best of the Holden runners in sixth, ahead of Cody Burcher, Bayley Hall, Bradi Owen and Aaron Love. Race 1 of the Dunlop Super2 Series at Sandown is scheduled to start at 2:05pm AEDT.
