Source: Speedcafe · · added 20 minutes ago

Tickford's Logan topped the Dunlop Super2 Series qualifying session for the Penrite Oil Sandown 500, edging teammate Ben Gomersall by 0.003s with a lap of 1:09.043s. Logan said it was his first pole since racing in Excels around four years ago, and that the track had evolved considerably between runs, with around six or seven tenths gained from the first to the second run.

Brad Jones Racing's Brad Vaughan was third and will start alongside Tickford's Nash Morris. Super2 Series points leader Lochie Dalton was fifth after Blanchard Racing Team rebuilt his Ford Mustang overnight. Tommy Smith and Ayrton Hodson had off-track moments early in the session and qualified 16th and 18th.

Race 2 of the Dunlop Super2 Series at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 is scheduled to start at 2:05pm AEDT.
