Dalton criticises Morris after Super2 race-ending incident
Blanchard Racing Team driver Dalton was taken out of the race after contact with Nash Morris at Turn 4 during the Super2 event. Dalton, who started from second, was sent into the tyre barrier after Morris made a forceful move up the inside, and Aaron Love was also caught up in the melee.
Dalton described the incident as "typical Super2" and said it was his first DNF in three-and-a-half seasons. He said Morris was "doing Nash things" and that the matter would be left for driving standards advisor Craig Baird to review. No investigation was forthcoming.
Further incidents followed, including a multi-car accident involving Bayley Sweeny, Bayley Hall and Ryan Tomsett. Campbell Logan led the race to the chequered flag ahead of teammates Reuben Goodall and Morris, while Brad Vaughan recovered to seventh and narrowed his deficit to Dalton in the standings to 18 points.
