Jarrod Hughes set for full-time Erebus drive in 2027
Jarrod Hughes is expected to secure a full-time Supercars seat with Erebus Motorsport for 2027, according to team CEO Ryan. The 21-year-old made his solo main game debut on the Gold Coast last month, as part of a General Motors-led driver shuffle that saw Cooper Murray leave Erebus for PremiAir Racing. The current arrangement with Hughes is still formally a three-event deal.
Ryan said a full-time agreement is coming, but that the team will announce it when ready. Hughes had spent the last two seasons in the Erebus enduro line-up and impressed in wet conditions at The Bend this year. On the Gold Coast he out-paced teammate Jobe Stewart despite no prior experience at Surfers Paradise, and came close to a top 10 finish before a fuel miscalculation cost him.
Ryan described Hughes as a new talent in the category. The other Erebus seat, held by Stewart, remains one of the last open questions of the silly season, with speculation that Stewart's retention is not guaranteed.
