GM teams say they will not help De Pasquale
PremiAir and Erebus have both said they will race for their own results rather than assist Team 18 driver De Pasquale. The comments follow allegations of collusion after additional pit stops for PremiAir and Erebus Camaros at the Gold Coast helped De Pasquale avoid elimination. Post-race fuel checks led Supercars to believe the stops were a strategic error rather than part of a General Motors plan.
Supercars officials warned all drivers and teams about race manipulation at the pre-event briefing at Sandown. Team orders remain permitted provided they are not issued by a third party such as a manufacturer. PremiAir team principal Roland Dane said his team would race for itself, while Erebus boss Barry Ryan said there were no circumstances in which his team would help De Pasquale.
