Iker Lecuona reportedly has MotoGP exit clause in Aruba SBK contract for 2028

Source: GPone · · added 5 hours ago

Iker Lecuona is competing in MotoGP with Gresini as a replacement for Fermín Aldeguer, and has already ridden four races this year. He is also expected to race in Qatar this weekend, and is getting used to the Ducati MotoGP machine.

Lecuona is contracted to Aruba in World Superbike until 2028, but reports suggest his deal contains a clause allowing him to leave early if he receives a concrete offer from a Ducati team for a 2028 MotoGP ride. His focus for now remains on Superbike and a title challenge, though a strong season could open the same kind of door that Nicolò Bulega has walked through.
