Martin says wrist still broken ahead of Qatar MotoGP as title fight continues
Jorge Martin says his fractured right wrist has improved from around 20% in Malaysia to about 50%, but admits the bone is still broken. He will undergo a medical review on Friday before opening practice at the Qatar MotoGP, and it is unclear whether he can complete the Lusail weekend.
Martin needs to score at least eight points in Qatar to keep the title battle alive into the penultimate round at Portimao, even if Marc Marquez takes maximum points. He said Marquez is the only rider who can decide the title, and said his main aim is to keep the championship fight alive until Valencia.
Team-mate Marco Bezzecchi, third in the standings and 23 points behind Marquez, has a similar goal. He said his target is to go as fast as possible to keep the fight alive, adding that it will not be easy after Marquez won both races at Lusail last year.
