Bezzecchi still aims to keep the title fight open at Lusail
Marco Bezzecchi arrives at the Qatar Grand Prix trailing Marc Márquez by 67 points with three rounds remaining. Speaking at the press conference that opens the Lusail weekend, the Aprilia rider said he would like to keep the championship race open, but acknowledged that the gap is significant.
Bezzecchi said Márquez was incredibly fast at Lusail in 2025, winning both races, while Aprilia was still struggling at the time. He said the situation is now different and that Aprilia may be able to compete with the best. Asked whether Márquez could be stopped, he said it would be as hard as ever, given the level of Márquez and the other riders.
The weekend is also taking place amid security concerns linked to the situation in the Middle East, and Yamaha has decided not to participate.
