Fermin Aldeguer passed fit for MotoGP return in Qatar

Source: Crash.net · · added 1 hour ago

Fermin Aldeguer has been declared fit to return to MotoGP action at Qatar this weekend. The Gresini rider had suffered a fractured right hand after crashing at Mandalika, the injury appearing to occur when he struck the ground in frustration.

It is the third significant injury setback of Aldeguer's season. He missed pre-season testing and the opening Thai round with a fractured femur, then was sidelined for three races after fracturing a vertebra at Assen. He also underwent surgery to remove some metalwork from his left leg before the flyaway rounds.

WorldSBK star Iker Lecuona replaced Aldeguer for the last two rounds and will continue at Gresini in Qatar, this time on the factory-spec GP26 in place of Alex Marquez. Injured Aprilia riders Jorge Martin and Raul Fernandez are also expected to be passed fit to return this weekend.
